PUBG Ultimate Guide (For new and experienced)

Miramar
MAP MAY BE INACCURATE
Knowing High Traffic Areas
Knowing high traffic areas is crucial in PUBG

Getting to know the maps of PUBG is very advantageous as you can watch an enemy enter a compound and know the possible exits, for example if the plane flies over Sosnovka Military Base and about 20 players eject onto Sosnovka Island and the zone is over the main island, you know that they have to cross the bridge or take a boat to reach the zone.
You and/or your team can set up a bridge camp and wait for the enemy to cross over the bridge.
People frown upon bridge camping but in actual fact it is a great way of getting loot and making enemies have no cover in the middle of the bridge.
In a solo game adapt this formation when bridge camping:
Sit at the end of the bridge closest to the zone for a quick getaway if things turn bad, this way your enemy wont be able to bridge camp you and steal your loot if you were to be sat 1/4 up or in the middle of the bridge.
In a duo game adapt this formation when bridge camping:
Make sure you're at the end of the bridge and not the middle because if your enemy manages to get past you, they could possibly bridge camp you, being the bridge camper. So Player number 1 should sit in the middle of the bridge and player number 2 at the end, closest to the zone, to stop the enemy bridge camping you, and also, if your enemy stops between you and your teammate you can shoot at them, they will get to cover with their back facing your friend then they will have no cover. Deeming you some easy loot.
In a squad game adapt this formation when bridge camping:
Make sure your team is spread along the bridge, one at the furthest end, two in the middle evenly spaced out and you at the spare end. This will choke your enemy and they will have no cover, and most likely stop in the middle of the bridge thinking they are safe, but they have 2 of your team behind them and the other 2 in front, again for an easy kill.

For knowing school it is fairly easy, figure out a loot run that is open and you know is clear, for a good loot run, land on the roof and collect whatever loot you can and eliminate defenseless players before they get geared, then drop down on the far side which faces Rozhok onto the sheet metal balcony and walk through the window into that room which normally has a shotgun or AR in most cases, then check your corners in the school, listen for footsteps and gunfights, and remember, NEVER let your guard down after a gun fight and instantly go to loot, keep fighting and only when you're certain it's clear, then loot.

Shelter aka Tunnels used to have good loot but now it has low loot and at most in games I have found a shotgun and lvl 1 armor which is terrible and not worth the drop, but if you are willing to take the risk drop at this entrance to the bunker which has 2 entrances which is a lot lower than all the other bunker sections with 3+ entrances for enemies to come from, then get your loot and get out! And run to the village down the road where it is a lot lower traffic and higher loot in my opinion.

Sunken City aka Water Town just near Rozhok is one of the best places to drop as it is over flowing with loot and it is not that popular unless the plane path is directly above it, landing on a buildings roof and making your way down is a great way to loot this city but stay aware as you may not be alone.

The best place by far I have found out is shooting range, drop on the lower range closest to Sverny then loot the shooting ranges building after you have looted the range, remember to also loot the benches. If you are playing in a duo they should drop at the higher 2 and try to get a gun and then loot the far end of the shooting range, then after you have cleared the shooting range by getting behind and in front of enemies you can regroup and loot the 2 bunkers surrounding the shooting range.
Playing the map [IN PROGRESS]
The most common loadout
What you need
  • Any type of sniper / marksman rifle
  • Any fully automatic and powerful assault rifle
How to improve the loadout (If possible)
  • Add suppressors to each class
  • A compensator for spraying
  • An extended quickdraw magazine
  • A 4x and/or 8x scope

What this class is about
This class is great for close range situations because of the fully automatic M416 and is exceptional at range due to the Mini14's exceptional low recoil and fast bullet speeds to assist you in ripping apart your enemy. The M416's recoil is very easy to control when a vertical grip and tactical stock is equipped to your firearm.
Benefits to this class
  • Low recoil
  • Easy to find
  • Almost all enemies carry 5.56mm for your weapons
  • Fast TBS (time between shot) for M416
Cautions to this class
  • Once you run out of 5.56mm you can't shoot anymore as both guns take 5.56mm
  • Tunnel vision on the enemy when sniping
  • Loud guns when unsuppressed
Best assault / rushing loadout
What you need
  • A weapon with a easy spray to control
  • Any shotgun of liking
How to improve the loadout (If possible)
  • Add suppressors / compensators to both guns
  • Add grips to your guns to improve accuracy while spraying
  • Get as much ammo as possible
  • Collect lots of heals
  • Gain best armour

What this class is about
Using an assault class both comes in handy for close range situations such as breaching buildings and also for playing it safe in tight situations. The goal of this loadout is to take enemies by surprise. When using this class you probably want to have an assault rifle with a vertical grip to help control your spray and a shotgun. An ideal attachment for any of these weapons would be to put a suppressor on your guns to muffle the report of your gun and help keep your location to a minimum
Benefits to this class
  • Uncommon tactic
  • Great for early game
  • Easy to gain control over situations
  • Fast and easy kills
  • Take over populated areas
Cautions to this class
  • Risky to do
  • Draws attention to your area
  • Items are based on luck
  • Medical Supplies are often low
  • Drains ammo
Best defense / camping loadout
What you need
  • Strong assault rifle with full attachments
  • Possible second assault rifle or shotgun
How to improve the loadout (If possible)
  • Strong machine gun with full attachments
  • Get better armour
  • Get suppressors for both guns
  • A lot of medical supplies
  • Red dot sights on both guns

What this class is about
Using a defending class is arguably the best class as long as you have good cover such as a house or trees, and the zone is quite good for your situation. It makes it harder for people to breach into your building and also makes it easier to kill people who are passing by. The goal of this loadout is to gain ground while keeping your known position to a minimum. When using this class compensators come in really handy as it makes killing your enemy fast and also makes it easy to spray at them if they are moving past you.
Benefits to this class
  • Easy to take control of final circles
  • Kills are usually fast
  • Entry points to your position are usually bad for cover
  • People come to you
  • Usually dont get seen from long ranges
Cautions to this class
  • Lots of people will also want you spot
  • Gaining better weapons is riskyg
  • It is easy to be grenaded
  • People may be in these positions already and it will be hard to breach
  • If cover is low getting there is hard
Best range / sniping loadout
What you need
  • Any sniper rifle
  • Secondary of choice, preferably a shotgun, submachine gun or assault rifle
How to improve the loadout (If possible)
  • Add an 8x scope to the sniper rifle
  • Add a suppressor to sniper rifle to muffle the sound
  • If the sniper rifle is semi-automatic add a cheek pad or grip
  • Aqquire a care package sniper or ghillie suit

What this class is about

Using a sniping class is the most common loadout amongst users, this is because it covers all ranges if the sniper is used along with an assault rifle, close to medium range with the Assault Rifle as you can just tap them away and missing a shot doesn't cost you as much time, which in turn, would allow the enemy to locate and take advantage of cover, if you were to miss a shot with a bolt action rifle the consequences could be greater.
Benefits to this class
  • Take long range kills with great damage
  • Do a lot of damage to armour
  • Take enemies by suprise
  • Hard for the enemy to locate you and fight back
  • Minimal bullet drop
Cautions to this class
  • Without a supressor a sniper can be heard from up to 700m away
  • Low rate of fire
  • Small magazine size
  • It's rare to find all attatchments
  • Can get crept up on easily, so keep moving!
Waiting out players
Waiting out players is a tough yet rewarding thing to do in PUBG.

If you can learn to incorporate waiting out players into your game, this will be greatly helpful as other players will think that you have lost interest in them and will come out of cover granting you an easy shot.

When waiting out a player one must not focus on just the target, but be well aware of their surroundings too, for example, if you were watching your target, for this demonstration lets call him 'Tom'.

Tom is in his house all nice and cosy until you roll up outside in your UAZ, Tom now knows he is not alone, he becomes alert and tries to find you. He spots you and opens fire, you stay calm as you know you have a great advantage because you have used 'DenegatE's PUBG Ultimate Gude' and are fully trained for this situation, you run to solid cover, e.g a house or hay bale, with doors/exits of the house in sight. Remember! Keep checking your surroundings, someone could be watching you, don't develop tunnel vision on your target! Now, you hide until Tom feels like you have lost interest, he walks out of the house checking his corners, you do not open fire unless your life is in danger or he has no cover! Tom walks out of the compound and into an open field. Now is your chance! Tom is ripped apart by shells and his body lay lifeless on the yellow field. Check your surroundings before you go to loot Tom as you may be a victim of being waited out too!

Now, you have got yourself easy loot and a 'free kill'

Moving Quietly
Moving quietly is crucial in PUBG

Enemies greatly rely on sound in PUBG as when you can't see someone close, most of the time you can hear them.

If you can adapt moving quietly when you notice someone and they don't see you, you can take advantage of that and creep up within 100m and shoot them whilst they sit nice and still for you.

Remember though, if you are playing squad/duo and knock out your enemy, move your position as the enemy will be telling his friends your position and whilst they are focused on your previous position, you can get behind their cover and take them out and steal their hard earned loot.

Use the bombing zone, plane or any passing cars to mask your footsteps to get close to an enemy.
Suppressors

Moving quietly links to suppressors because you can use a suppressor to mask your location to a wider area or make the report of your gun silent if you are far enough. This confuses enemies and they may take cover with their back facing you which is great if they sit still and your aim is good enough.
How to move quietly

Use CTRL to move quieter than normal walking
Use Crouch + CTRL to move quietly and still move quite fast
Use Prone + CTRL to move quietly but with a harsh noise
Close and Loud
Being loud and close to players draws lots of attention into one concentrated area

Being a close and loud player is beneficial to playing PUBG. This tactic draws players toward you, meaning as long as you know what you are doing you should be getting loot in the masses.

To start of with being close and loud choose a class from our 'Best Loadouts' section, preferably an Assault Rifle and a Shotgun because the damage on shotguns (S186 & S1897) are always lethal when you're close enough, and should be a fairly easy kill because your aim doesn't need to be perfect due to the bullet spread of shotguns, but bear in mind, all the spread needs to hit your enemy for it to be a 1 hit kill.

This section links to the Moving Quietly section as strange as it sounds because you can quietly sneak up to your enemy and take them out by surprise, being as loud as you want because they won't be ready for it.

Remember, when your being loud, not just your enemy can hear it, everyone in the sound radius of your weapon will hear you and probably come to the shots for your loot and a kill, so stay alert and watch your surroundings.
Meds
Medical supplies are a really important feature to PUBG. They allow you to have continuous battles against players whilst also being able to regain health after or even during battles.

A max HP of 75 can be gained by bandages or a first aid kit but to reach the desired 100 boosters must be used or a med kit which gives 100hp

Outplaying the enemy
Outplaying your enemies can be the difference between you coming out on top of a gun fight or dying.
This is when practice comes into play as you can predict what the enemies will be doing and where they will move to. Using this skill allows you to flank around the enemies with them being clueless and also set out the perfect bait for them to react to.
Baiting is really great to tactic to apply to your game. Putting down fake loot in houses and baiting supplies makes users think they are safe once they see it. They will put their guard down and you can get the easy kill.
Making players feel safe makes them put their guard down. This makes it so easy to get kills and vital loot that you need.
How to get better at the game. (Improve your aim)
Sensitivity
Some of you new players wont be the best at this game. We understand that and that is why we're here to help!
One of the best ways to improve your aim is to just dedicate a lot of time to the game. If you are good at other games and have found the perfect sensitivity go online and use a sensitivity converter. Another option is to in the game you are good at measure how far your mouse has to move for your in game character to move 180 degrees. Then go into PUBG and by trail and error change your sensitivity so that when you move your mouse that far, the character in game also moves 180 degrees. This method takes much longer but the outcome is worth it. You can be comfortable with your mouse.
How to get better at understanding players
Now, to get better at understanding enemies in situations and improve at the game, I highly suggest playing 1-man-team or solo-squads. What this means is that you are going in to a game of teams from 1-4 against only you. At first you may die a lot, but it helps you to understand how to get control of populated areas and also assists you in knowing how players will move when you knock their friends out.
What I recommend doing is playing either really safe, going somewhere less dense in players then hunting down squads or playing the circle letting them come to you. Or going to a popular area and trying to kill squads. This will help you understand movement of players. How they react in situations. This makes it much easier to predict players when you are playing with your friends allowing you to come out on top of situations.
Communication with teammates
Communication is arguably one of the most vital skills to have in PUBG. It is the difference between life and death. Having a teammate who can give you the crucial information you need and also give it accuratly is great. It assists you on finding the players you need to find and WILL mean you come out on top of situations.

For example lets say you see the enemy and know he is across the river from you at the rock wearing a ghillie suit. You know perfectly where he is but know if you peak out he willl kill you.
How to explain to your teammate where they are in three steps.
  • Start with the small detail (Right side of the rock)
  • Then explain the distance (Just across the river)
  • Then go on to give better detail of the enemy.

Most of the time the bearing of the player is useless as where they are on your bearing is different because if you and your teammate stand far appart the bearing on players change durastically. This is why it is better to say the detail and start small and expand on where they are.

If you are still feel like you need to give the bearing on the player here is a little tip.
If your teammate is around 5m to the left of you add on 10 degrees to the bearing of the player
If they are 5m to the right, remove 10 degrees.
So the key is that left means add 5 and right means remove 5.
Communication Programs
From personal experiance all I can say is that discord is one of the best. But obviously any program is better then using in game voice.

Best Graphics Settings
Firstly to get good FPS you need to make sure your graphics settings looks like this

You should have your graphics like this because:
  • Screen Scale: Leave it at 100 because you probably wont notice a difference between that and 120.
  • Anti-Aliasing: This smooths objects and stops them from looking jagged, In my opinion, very low doesn't look too bad and it is most certainly playable.
  • Post-Processing: This is tends to be Bloom and Motion Blur, nobody wants that eye melting mush on their screen.
  • Shadows: The name says it all, disabling shadows is great because you can spot enemys at the base of trees in 'shadows' that are barely there for you and you will spot them faster than you would with shadows on ultra.
  • Texture: This is detail on the characters and objects, if you don't mind a bit of a smudgy character without defined lines, changing this setting to Very Low shouldn't effect anything.
  • Effects: This setting effects the quality of smokes and a frag grenades black smoke left behind and bullet impact dust, this should barely make a change in your game so put it on Very Low!
  • Foliage:: This removes most grass and if enemys are in the distance laid in grass you can see them clearly, also at greater distances trees wont render in so you can see enemys behind them (you can't shoot at them as there's a tree in the way)
  • View Distance: This changes the detail of objects in the distance, so instead of your enemy being a smudge on your screen you can have a detailed man/woman instead which is very easy to spot, especially with Very Low foliage, so put this setting on High/Ultra
  • Motion Blur: NO!! This is eye melting mush at it's finest. Never put this on
  • V-Sync: This just stops screen tear, put it on if you want no screen tear, off if you don't mind. I have it off as I see no difference ;-;

Launch Options
What launch options are

Game launch options can be used to change game settings before running the game. Launch options allow you to supercede internal settings of the game, in this case we will be using the launch option to make sure PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds uses all available cores on your system, in turn making it preform better.
How to change launch options
  • Go to your Steam Library
  • Locate 'PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATLEGROUNDS'
  • Right click on the game in the left hand list
  • Select 'Properties'
  • Under the 'GENERAL' tab click 'SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...'
  • Then copy and paste this code into the empty box: -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system -sm4
  • Now click 'OK' and you are ready to game!

More information

-USEALLAVAILABLECORES
This does exactly as it specifies. This will ensure that all of your CPU cores are being used while running PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

-malloc=system
This will let your operating system decide the amount of memory to use while the game is running. Since the game is not optimized yet, allowing your system to control this will improve gameplay significantly.

-sm4
If you’re still having a difficult time running the game then add this to your current Steam launch options. This will change shading from DirectX 11 to DirectX 10. It won’t look as stunning, but it should run a bit more smoothly.
